Okinawa Global Academy, a new international school in Okinawa, is looking for highly experienced and compassionate teachers to be part of the founding faculty. We are in need of teachers as partners in our mission to provide a learning environment that will observe the balance of joy and excellence for learning. Specifically, we are filling teaching positions in the Early Learning Center (Kindergarten department) and the Elementary department. In the ELC department, we are looking for teachers who can teach children age groups 3-4 and 4-5 y.o. by observing the eclectic approach to learning with more emphasis on the philosophy of Reggio Emilia Approach. This position highly needs teachers who love music, dance and tell stories and poems. While in the Elementary department, we are looking for teachers who possess the need to be creative in delivering and implementing the curriculum, the need to be understanding and knowing each student and their mindsets/perspectives, the need to work with children to co-create new learning opportunities, and the need to work effectively and collaboratively to improve professional relationships among children and the faculty. Teachers who have special skills can be very valuable to the school as it also offers Special Programs in Music and the Arts. No Japanese ability required because a Japanese bilingual teacher will partner with the classroom teacher. Successful candidates will enjoy highly competitive pay and benefits.

Compensation:
Basic salary: PreK JPY 250,000, Elem JPY 300,000
