Description

ALTIA CENTRAL is accepting applications to join our team of fantastic ALTs for openings in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture, from April 2018. If you would like to work in a public school with one of the most reputable and successful companies in the ALT industry, then please apply now.

Ito is a popular hot spring resort area, with beautiful coastline, a warm climate, and plenty of scenic local attractions. The Ito/Atami area is on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula, is less than an hour from Mt. Fuji and just 90 minutes from Tokyo. Junior high, elementary and even some kindergarten positions are available here, as well as in cities further north and west such as Gotemba and Makinohara.

ALTIA CENTRAL will be conducting weekday interviews on an ongoing basis at our head office in Nagoya and our Kansai office in Osaka to fill this and other positions from April so we are looking for as many great applicants as possible. We also interview on weekends in locations such as Hiroshima, Okayama, Tokyo and Shizuoka, on a regular basis.

Our ideal applicant is a native English speaker with a bachelor's degree (or higher) who is flexible, culturally sensitive, and motivated to go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for students.

We would also prefer applicants who have previously spent some time studying or working in Japan, and as many ALT positions do require driving, we prefer people who can or would be able to drive in Japan.

ALTs work in public schools assisting Japanese teachers, helping to provide enjoyable and energetic lessons, and interacting with the students both inside and outside the classroom. Working as an ALT is a great opportunity to improve your Japanese language ability through cooperation with Japanese staff, to experience and appreciate cultural differences, and most importantly, to be positively involved with the development and well-being of young children.

ALTIA CENTRAL enjoys an excellent reputation, positive relationships with Boards of Education, and is respected by the English teaching community in Japan. We operate mostly in the Chubu area, especially Aichi, Gifu, Mie, and Shizuoka prefectures, areas further west such as Shiga, Okayama, and Hiroshima, along with a number of contracts in the Kansai area as well.

Our highly experienced native-English speaking supervisors offer a stable, reliable and extremely professional support system. We also provide excellent teacher training, a wide array of top-quality educational resources and a comprehensive benefits package including generously paid vacation periods.

If you are interested in applying and have the work ethic and enthusiasm to represent our values while making a real difference in Japan's public schools, please visit our Recruiting website for further details about ALTIA CENTRAL. Please note that successful applicants will need to be available for a full 4-day Orientation/Training session in late March before starting in school from April 1st, 2018.
