Applicants for the our available positions should be enthusiastic about teaching the English language to school-age students and should have a desire to help the students to learn about the culture, customs and other points of interest of other countries.
The current available openings are for 2 positions in Machida, Tokyo. As they are part-time positions they may be best suited to educators who have a flexible schedule and who prefer to, or are able to, combine various teaching assignments and like to manage their own schedules.
The positions involve:
- Solo teaching approximately 15 co-ed students for 2 hours on a Monday from 5:15pm to 7:15pm at a top-level high school in Machida.
- The course is a home-stay preparation course and is designed to help the students get ready to go and build confidence before going to the U.S.A.
- The educators will be responsible for helping the students learn English for their time overseas in addition to teaching about various cultural aspects of America. This could range from teaching about what is currently 'cool' among American youth to customs that the Japanese students might find interesting or surprising.
-There will be a total of twelve 2-hour sessions over a 6 month period, the first of which starts at the beginning of October.
The payment for each 2 hour slot is 10,000 Yen (5,000 Yen/Hr). Compensation will be on a per lesson basis and all transportation expenses between the teacher's place of residence and the school will be reimbursed.
