Description

Established in September 2011, Global Institute (GI) runs Tokyo International School After-school (TISAS), Tokyo International School Kindergarten (TISKG) and Tokyo International School Learning Through English (TISLTE) at our Nakameguro and Minami Azabu model school campuses. We also have a franchise campus based in Kachidoki, Chuo-ku, another in Maruyama, Sapporo, and a third franchise campus in Nishinomiya, Hyogo. In April 2016 we opened, together with Eishinkan, a fourth franchise campus in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka.

TISKG is a three-year international kindergarten program that provides an immersion environment (children must attend at least 3 days per week) for non-native English speaking children. Students attend classes from 9:15am until 2pm. The first year of this program is an immersion focus where the aim is to build a solid base of communicative ability. In the second year the students are introduced to the inquiry learning model and this style of learning is further reinforced in the third year. The maximum number of students per class is 14.

We are currently looking to hire a Teacher to team our K2 class.

POSITION DETAILS: The work week is Monday to Friday. Paid vacation days are every Saturday and Sunday, public holidays, five days paid leave, one week during summer, and two weeks in winter. The daily work schedule is 8:00am to 17:00pm, but it must be mentioned that the Head Teachers is expected to work the hours necessary to help run the school and give the students the highest possible quality of learning experience.

IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a confident, dedicated, and passionate teacher. Candidates must have a university degree and two years experience (ideally working with elementary students in Japan).

LOCATION: The school is located near Ropponmatsu station and Befu station on the Jonan line and Tojinmachi station and Nishijin station on the Kuko line.

START DATE: The start date is August, 2017.

TRAINING: A training period of 1 week will be held prior to the start of classes.

COMPENSATION: The wage will be 270,000 per month. Participation in the Social Insurance and Pension is required (company contributions are made separate from the stated wage level with the teacher contributions being deducted from the wage). Transportation is reimbursed up to 25,000 per month.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS: GI is providing a recruitment service for Eishinkan. GI will screen resumes to check that minimum requirements are met. Candidates who meet the requirements will be contacted to arrange face-to-face interviews for teachers who are able to come to our Tokyo HQ, or Skype web-interviews for those who can’t. Candidates will be asked to bring with them their residence card, passport, copies of qualifications and letters of reference. Following the first round of interviews candidates will be short-listed for a second round of interviews, which will include a trial lesson. These second round interviews will be conducted with Eishinkan staff and they will make the final decision. Once that final decision has been made GI will contact all candidates to inform them of the decision. The successful candidate will meet with Eishinkan to sign employment documentation.

We look forward to receiving your application.
