Description

Global Step Academy is looking for experienced and creative kindergarten teachers to work with children ages 2-5 in an international kindergarten. Both homeroom teacher and assistant teacher positions are available.

Daily responsibilities include lesson planning and active participation in all student activities and school events. Teachers must have genuine interest in working and communicating with children of different nationalities, mother tongues and backgrounds.

[THE SCHOOL]
Global Step Academy provides high-quality education to over 50 children ages 2 to 5 in a relaxed, homelike atmosphere. The curriculum is based on the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), but we are also focused on the teaching of sports (physical education, gymnastics, soccer), dance (hip-hop, jazz, zumba) and music. All non academic subjects are taught by specialist teachers. All lessons are taught in English, as about half of our students are mother tongue speakers.

[WORKING CONDITIONS]
Working Hours: 8 hours (mainly 8:30 to 16:30)
Working Days: Monday to Friday. Work on Saturday and Sunday in case of school event.
Holidays: Japanese National Holidays + school holidays + 10 days of personal leave
Allowances: transportation fees reimbursement (up to 15,000/month), Social Insurance (Shakai Hoken) for full time employees and professional development opportunities.

[DUTIES]
-Develop and implement lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with the school concept.
-Assess students regularly and analyze student results; refine and differentiate classroom instruction based on assessment data and student needs.
-Involve parents and guardians as partners in their students’ education.
-Manage student behavior.
-Actively participate in professional development activities, and work closely with colleagues.
-Maintain accurate student records and attendance.
-Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs.
-Support the mission, vision, and core values of Global Step Academy.
-Perform other related duties as required and assigned (school bus attendant duties, classroom cleaning and management).

[REQUIRED SKILLS]
-Knowledge of child cognitive development
-Ability and willingness to implement Aspire Instructional Guidelines and Best Practices
-Ability to understand and arrange qualitative and quantitative student data
-Ability to assess students of different mother tongues and backgrounds
-Ability to collaborate with parents and colleagues
-Office proficiency

[MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL LEVEL AND EXPERIENCE]
-Bachelors degree
-At least three years experience working with preschool (age 2 to 4) students
-Valid early childhood teaching credentials are highly preferred
-Experience with IPC (International Primary Curriculum) is preferred
