Educational Network Inc. (E-Staff) is seeking educators to be placed as part-time Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) in elementary schools across the Tokyo area. Applicants for the available positions should be enthusiastic about teaching the English language to young learners and should have a desire to help the students to learn about the culture, customs and other points of interest of other countries.
The current available openings are for positions in Central Tokyo. As these are part-time positions they may be best suited to educators who have a flexible schedule and who prefer to, or are able to, combine various teaching assignments and like to manage their own schedules.
The positions involve:
- Assisting a native Japanese teacher of English to plan lessons for the students.
- Teaching the lessons, together with the Japanese teacher of English.
- Helping to provide the students with an opportunity to expand their knowledge of other countries and think on a global scale.
The current available positions are as follows:
- Position: Elementary School Part-time ALT
- Working term: April, 2017 to March, 2018
- Working Hours: 14:00 to 17:00 (1 lesson per week)
Compensation will be on a per lesson basis and all transportation expenses between the teacher's place of residence and the school will be reimbursed.
Position Requirements:
-Must be a native speaker of English.
-Must have completed a University Bachelor’s Degree.
-Must be currently residing in Japan and have a valid visa status that allows you to live and work
in Japan.
-Must be able to work confidently within a Japanese work environment with tact, flexibility and
understanding.
-Must have at least one year of ALT English teaching experience at elementary school, junior-
high school, senior-high school or kindergarten in Japan. (Preferable but not essential)
