Description:
Patro Information is seeking a native English-speaking in-house proofreader to join our team. The ideal candidate has an educational or work experience background in a relevant scientific domain. Work experience in translation is not strictly necessary, but a strong ability with both spoken and written Japanese and a desire to learn are required. Experience or working familiarity with the Japanese patent system is a plus. A desire to learn translation on the job is a plus.

Responsibilities:
-Proofread and edit documents prepared by Japanese and foreign colleagues
-Proofread and edit communications and internal documents as needed
-Provide office support and related activities

Requirements:
-Must be a native English speaker
-Must have a good familiarity with both spoken and written Japanese
-Must have an educational or relevant work experience background in some sort of scientific domain
-Must be detail-oriented, organized, and thorough
-Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
-Must be familiar with Japanese versions of Microsoft software (Office, Windows, etc.)
-Must be currently authorized for full-time employment in Japan (i.e., work visa, spouse/child visa, etc.)

Note that Patro Information is a hybrid remote/in-office work environment. Regular in-office days are required.
