Established in 1985, Tokyo International School Group (TISG) runs Tokyo International School Afterschool (TISAS), Tokyo International School Kindergarten (TISKG) and Tokyo International School Learning Through English (TISLTE) at our Nakameguro, Minami Azabu, Komazawa and Toritsudai model school campuses in Tokyo. From April 2020, TISG will be teaming up with Yamanashi Gakuin to start an after school program at their kindergarten and elementary school using TISG's English Inquiry Program (EIP).
Yamanashi Gakuin is an educational organization that was established in 1956 and is based in the Kofu area of Yamanashi prefecture. With a wide range of schools, including Post-Graduate University, University, Junior College, High School, Junor High School, Elementary School, and Kindergarten, Yamanashi Gakuin's ongoing goal is to cultivate human beings who are able to contribute to society, who have a broad international perspective of Japanese culture, and who have a personality rich in culture and creativity.
Granted authorization as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) school in February 2019, Yamanashi Gakuin is steering their efforts towards globalization at all of their schools, and looking forward to establishing their work not only in Japan but also internationally.
POSITION DETAILS: The workweek is from Monday to Friday. Paid vacation days are every Saturday and Sunday, public holidays, five days paid leave (after the first 6 months of employment), one week in summer, two weeks in winter, and 1 week in spring. The daily work schedule has two shifts: the early shift is 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and the late shift is 10:15 am to 7:15 pm.
IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a confident, dedicated, and passionate teacher. Candidates must have a university degree and at least two years of experience (working with elementary and kindergarten students in Japan).
LOCATION: The school is located near Sakaori station on the Chuo Main line.
START DATE: The start date is April 2021.
TRAINING: A training period of 1 week will be held prior to the start of classes.
COMPENSATION: The wage will be 280,000 per month plus an accommodation allowance of 19,000 per month. Participation in the Social Insurance and Pension is required (company contributions are made on top of the stated wage level with teacher contributions being deducted from the wage). Transportation is reimbursed up to 40,000 per month.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS: TISG is providing a recruitment service for Yamanashi Gakuin. TISG will screen resumes to check that minimum requirements are met. Candidates who meet the requirements will be contacted to arrange a Skype web-interview.
Following the first round of interviews candidates will be short-listed for a second round of interviews, which will include a trial lesson. These second-round interviews will be conducted at TISG's Naka Meguro Model school campus in Tokyo. Candidates will be asked to bring with them their residence cards, passports, copies of qualifications, and letters of reference.
Yamanashi Gakuin will then make the final decision. Once that final decision has been made TISG will contact all candidates to inform them of the decision. The successful candidate will meet with Yamanashi Gakuin to sign employment documentation.
