Requirements

  • English: Native level (preferred)
  • Must currently reside in Japan
  • Minimum Qualifications for PYP: Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) or a related field. Teaching certification (PGCE, Teaching License, or equivalent). IB PYP training/certification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum Qualifications for Early Childhood: ● Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education ● Teaching certification/license in Early Childhood Education is preferred. ● Training in Montessori, Reggio Emilia, IB PYP (Early Years), or play-bas

Description

Experience
● Minimum 1-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in Early Childhood and PYP (Primary years program)
education.
● Experience working in an international school, IB PYP Early Years program, or PYP program

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Learning

● Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that promote cognitive, social,
emotional, and physical development.
● Implement play-based, inquiry-driven, and hands-on learning activities.
● Foster a love for learning by creating a warm, welcoming, and stimulating classroom
environment.
● Integrate early literacy, numeracy, arts, music, and movement into daily activities.
● Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and
developmental stages.

2. Child Development & Classroom Management

● Support children's social-emotional growth through positive reinforcement and
guidance.
● Monitor and assess children’s progress using observations, documentation, and
assessments.
● Ensure a safe, inclusive, and child-centred learning environment
● Establish and maintain clear routines, rules, and expectations.

3. Collaboration & Professional Development

● Work closely with parents, teaching assistants, and fellow educators to support
children's learning.
● Participate in team meetings, curriculum planning, and school events.
● Engage in professional development workshops and early childhood training.

4. Parent & Community Engagement

● Maintain open and clear communication with parents through meetings,
newsletters, and progress reports.
● Encourage parent participation in school activities, workshops, and celebrations.
● Provide guidance to parents on child development and early learning strategies.
