Position: Saturday School Teacher
Location: Marie International School Omotesando
Grade Levels: Kindergarten to Middle School
Language Requirement: Bilingual (preferred)
Reports to: Saturday Academy Director
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic teacher to join our Saturday Academy program at Marie International School. The ideal candidate will work with students from Kindergarten through Middle School, providing engaging and age-appropriate lessons in English, tailored to different proficiency levels. Teachers will be responsible for supporting student growth, maintaining clear communication with parents, and ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Lesson Planning:
- Deliver engaging, student-centered lessons tailored to varying English proficiency levels from Kindergarten to Middle School.
- Develop interactive and creative learning activities that promote language acquisition while stimulating curiosity and critical thinking.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring lessons are both challenging and accessible.
Student Progress Monitoring & Assessment:
- Track and assess student progress, ensuring consistent development in English language skills.
- Provide detailed feedback and suggestions for improvement, offering support to help students reach their academic potential.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, ensuring regular communication with parents about their child’s progress.
Parent Communication & Collaboration:
- Serve as a key point of contact for parents, fostering open communication about student achievements, challenges, and overall well-being.
- Hold periodic parent-teacher meetings to discuss progress and collaborate on strategies for student improvement.
- Build strong, positive relationships with parents, creating a supportive and transparent learning community.
Resource Management & Preparation:
- Ensure that classroom resources and materials are well-organized and sufficient to meet student needs.
- Collaborate with the Academy Director to identify and request additional resources to enhance the learning experience.
Collaboration & Professional Development:
- Engage in training and development opportunities provided by experienced homeroom teachers and school directors to continuously refine your teaching practice.
- Work closely with fellow educators to exchange ideas, strategies, and resources to improve overall student outcomes.
- Participate in school-wide activities and initiatives to contribute to the overall growth of the school community.
Classroom Management:
- Create a positive, safe, and motivating classroom environment where students feel comfortable to take risks, ask questions, and grow.
- Use effective classroom management strategies to ensure smooth operations and a productive learning environment for all students.

Requirements:
- Education:A Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred.
For career growth into a full-time homeroom teaching position: A teaching license or degree in education/teaching will be required.
- Experience:Previous teaching or tutoring experience is highly preferred.
Experience in an international or bilingual environment is a plus.Experience working with students across different age groups (Kindergarten to Middle School) is an advantage.
- Skills & Competencies:Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken); bilingual candidates (e.g., English and [Second Language]) are highly encouraged to apply.
Ability to adapt lessons to suit varying levels of English proficiency and student needs.Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues.
