Teacher at an International School（期限切れ）

We are hiring a Full-time classroom teacher.

Green Bear English is an international school founded in 2001, aiming to give Japanese children an opportunity in international standardized education. The school rapidly grew in size and currently, more than 600 students are enrolled.

Where is the school located?

We have two schools. Both are located in the Tokyo area, within a 30-minute train ride to central Tokyo. We are currently hiring a teacher for our Funabashi school in Chiba.

What kind of position is it?

Full-time classroom teacher for a minimum of one-year contract. Our students range between the ages of 2 - 12 years old. Which age group you will be in charge will be discussed and decided based on your experience, interest, and how fitted you are in each classes after you join.

Work Hours:
10:00 -19:00 (12:00 - 13:00 break), 8 work hours a day. 5 days a week.
OR
9:00 – 18:00 (14:00-15:00 break) 8 work hours a day, 5 days a week.

Class sizes vary between grades, ranging from 8 - 25 students per class.
Students/Teacher ratio is roughly 10 student per teacher max.
If they are younger than 3 years, it is about 5 students per teacher.

We have 3 annual events that we perform in front of parents such as Sports Day, Halloween, and the end-of-year English theatre performance.

Preferred Qualifications / Requirements

• Native English speaker.
• A desire to be an English Teacher and have fun being around students.
• Familiarity with Japanese culture and educational system to reflect how students
understand and learn things accordingly to their background.
• Previous experience teaching Elementary School students or Kindergarten students will be a plus!
• Ability to create a fun environment and follow our School Philosophy of “Learning Through Fun”. This means you have to have fun in the class.
• Ability to produce engaging, interactive, fun lesson plans and events that align with the curriculum and theme.
• Computer literate with the ability to use multimedia resources to enhance learning.
We use office for lesson planning and cloud service to share the teaching resource.
We use tablet and TV to share the lesson materials to students.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
