[Hiring Immediately]
Hello! Thanks for your interest in HYÜGEL AFTER SCHOOL :)
Want to be a part of a "new school" that just opened this March?? Do you love children?
Currently, we are in need of a part-time teacher to help us grow our "new school" in Toyonaka, Osaka. The most important thing to us is that you love working with "elementary students" and want to build an after-school environment that is unlike any other.
Nothing gets us more excited than coming up with new ideas for how to get new students or create fun and engaging ways for them to learn. We believe that after a long day of hard work at elementary school, kids should be excited to come to HYÜGEL because even though they are learning, they are having fun.
We would like to start off a new staff member with a short term, 3-month contract. After the contract concludes, if it is the right fit, we would like to negotiate a pay increase and a firm hourly schedule.
Contract period:
Preferably from November 2024 (negotiable)
(3-month preliminary contract with the opportunity to join for a more substantial role)
Contract type:
Part-time
Working Hours:
- 13:00~18:30 (Monday-Friday)
- 8:30~12:30 (Saturday)
- From 2 days per week (negotiable)
※If you are able to drive, we may ask you to work until 7pm after consultation.
If you are able to drive, you will receive a preferential hourly wage.
Closed:
- Every Sunday~18:30
- National holidays
- Other (New Year‘s holiday, Obon holiday)
Starting Salary:
1,300~1,500 yen
(negotiable at the end of a 3-month contract)
Responsibilities:
1. Will teach 1 or 2 English daily lessons to elementary-age students.
(Our lessons are based on several textbooks and activities. We also record our lessons in a shared Google sheet. This way, teachers can learn from one another and for HYÜGEL’s future.)
2. Collaborate with your peers about things like the school's design, activities, and lessons.
3. While the staff is picking up the children or dropping them off, you will be expected to stay with the remaining kids to watch them and communicate with the Japanese staff if any issues arise. You may also be asked to pick up children from a nearby elementary school, which is a few minutes by foot.
4. Responsibilities will evolve as your role expands.
There are various roles surrounding the facility, such as leading circle time, planning seasonal events, decorating the facility, writing advertising articles, and filming and editing videos.
However, you do not need to be able to do everything. We would appreciate it if you could help us by utilizing your personality, experience and abilities.
Qualifications (Required):
1. Have experience teaching English.
2. Have experience in childcare or education.
3. Must have confidence in speaking Japanese (JLPT N3 LEVEL preferred).
4. Must be cheerful, energetic and communicative.
5. Must be a team player
6. A current working visa in Japan.
7. International driver’s license or Japanese driver’s license preferred.
If you can't see already by the style of our job advertisement, we don't want HYÜGEL to feel like a traditional company where everything is hidden behind corporate lingo or a strict set of rules. Every day is an adventure for us and we're genuinely excited to see our school grow.
If that’s what you’re looking for, we also have paths to staff leadership, management and full-time employment.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be a part of making a positive difference in the lives of children while being a part of a growing school. Each of our staff is highly experienced in teaching and working with elementary school students, so this is a great chance to learn from one another. Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity!
