MIS is seeking an experienced teacher to join our Primary School Department as Homeroom Teacher from April 2025.

About our school:
Marie International School is a private all-English International school in Japan. We currently operate two schools, in Omotesando,Tokyo and Shukugawa, Hyogo. Since founded in 2020, we have all worked tirelessly to support students in gaining the ‘Confidence to Be’ - attaining a clear understanding of who they are (Knowing Me), being able to Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with others (Knowing You), and Progressively developing to become a higher, complete version of themselves (Connecting Us).

Our Vision is to be a leading International School through a passion for progressive teaching methodology, so that our students can live up to their full potential. We utilize a combination of the local national curriculum as well as an English curriculum selected from the very best learning resources in the world. All classes are within a 1 to 8 teacher to student ratio, allowing the teacher to pay attention to each student and personalize their teaching methods.

About the position:

- Provide high-quality, expert teaching across all subjects, built on an evidence-informed understanding of effective teaching
- Ensure teaching is founded on high levels of subject expertise (Core subjects include Language Arts, English, Math, Science and Global Studies)
- Be willing to attend teacher training sessions to provide opportunities for teachers to develop in their profession and provide a higher quality of education for the students
- Implement consistent, fair and respectful approaches to managing student behavior, such as deciding on classroom rules that is mutually understood by everyone
- Understand the importance of lesson planning, and provide a class that adheres to each of the learning needs of each student in the class
- Implement functional and fair classroom rules and guidelines, providing a safe and fun learning environment
- Expand upon the school’s curriculum with original ideas and activities
- Assess, record, and report students’ progress
- Participate actively in communication with parents
- Carry out other related activities and responsibilities, including planning for events (e.g. Sports day, Summer School, Halloween Party)
- Teach afterschool programs

Requirements:
-MUST have Teaching Certification, License or Degree in Education
-MUST have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Primary Education
-MUST be native level in English
-MUST be located in the Kanto area
