St. Dominic is seeking a professional and experienced native English-speaking instructor for a full-time or part-time position. If you are passionate about teaching and looking for a rewarding teaching environment, this opportunity may be for you. We offer an International program where students engage in half of their classes in English and the other half in Japanese. Our mission is to foster critical thinking and encourage students to take an active role in their education.

Location:
A private Junior & Senior High School in Setagaya, approximately a ten-minute walk from Yoga Station near Kunuta Park.

Key Responsibilities:

(1)Teach advanced English classes, fostering a student-centered learning environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.

OR

(2) Teach advanced mathematics lessons and English lessons in alignment with the school's curriculum.

• For full-time instructors, responsibilities also include administrative tasks, supervising student clubs, and providing guidance for extracurricular activities.
• Follow our established curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching methods such as Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL).


Job Details:
• Start Date: April 1, 2025
• Contract: One-year, with the possibility of extension or transition to a full-time role based on performance
• Weekly Commitment: 17 hours, including English instruction for international courses and meetings with Japanese faculty members


Qualifications:
• A strong understanding of our school’s educational philosophy and a genuine passion for teaching.
• Basic Japanese skills to help communicate with Japanese faculty and staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
• Native English speaker with the ability to teach specialized content in English and mathematics at the middle and high school levels.
