Description

Destination Asia Japan is expanding, and we are looking for the right people to be part of our growth.
We are looking for a experienced person to manage our group tours and cruise clientele.
The candidate will be responsible for the designing and implementation of cruise ship shore excursion programs and group tours in Japan.
This position also involves travel around Japan to assist the cruise ships when they are in port.

To apply for this position you must have experience in at least one of the following:

Job purpose:
Directly responsible for effective management of product development, procurement, reservations, coordination and delivery of in country services, ensuring quality and safety benchmarks for the cruise and group tours division.


1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the company’s Group tours and Cruise operations.
- Lead the communication for Group tours and Cruise accounts and be involved in all aspects of the sales process from proposal preparation, to planning, execution and follow up.
- Act as the lead onsite manager for Group tours and Cruise operations, during any site inspections, FAM trip or actual program and assist the ED with all logistics.
- Ensure that the company’s standards are adhered to when preparing proposals and ensure that margin guidelines are implemented to ensure a balance between profitability and competitiveness.
- Develop product relevant to Group tours and Cruise clientele to ensure that the companies offerings are unique and maintains is reputation in offering the most innovative product in Asia.
- Conduct competitor analysis to assess what product and pricing is being offered so that the Company may position itself accordingly.
- Establish and manage contacts with port officals and shipping agents in order to enhance the company’s image, to facilitate the operation of large or special projects and to maintain the company’s edge over its competitors.
- Develop operational plans to ensure that the very best service is provided onsite whilst maintaining strict control over cost and unnecessary expenditure.
- Negotiation with suppliers for competitive rates

Education and Experience
- Bachelor or Master degree in tourism or business
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in tourism field
- Some working knowledge in operations, sales and administration

Required Skills
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
- Experience in strategic planning and execution
- Knowledge of contracting and negotiating
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Thorough knowledge of inbound tourism industry
- Good interpersonal skill with ability to work well with all levels of managements, department heads and support staff
- Ability to delegate and prioritize work
