We are currently looking for quality candidates who can start from September to be an assistant to the English teacher in public schools in Kanto area, Japan. Holding a BA/BS degree and having some Japanese ability is needed, as well as being a native speaker with a working visa or the potential to be sponsored. Experience to teach with kids aged 6 through 15 is a big plus. The successful applicant should live in or be willing to commute to the area.

Current locations possible are in Ibaraki, Gunma, Saitama, Chiba and Tokyo. Some positions are junior high, others elementary, and some a combination of both levels. There could be up to 3 schools visited in a schedule, but not with increased workload.


The basic conditions are:

-Starting no earlier than 7:30AM and finishing no later than 4:30PM
-Maximum of under 6 hours working time (7 periods of 50 minutes; a maximum of 6 classes per day with the average being perhaps 3-5)
-Daily Salary : Will depend on the school ; between 11,000-13,000 yen per day as hours vary based on location.
-The schedule has not been released for September, but the past year these positions had around 100-125 days over this time frame and should be similar this year. Within the schedule is a healthy break in winter and a scattering of national holidays. Monthly pay will reflect the actual work done (Number of days worked X daily rate).
-Driving for this position may be required. If you have no other preparations fixed for a vehicle, we can supply a rental vehicle.
-If needing housing assistance, we can arrange a private apartment.
-If needing a visa and qualified for sponsorship, we can arrange a work visa.

Requirements:

-Native English Speaking ability
-Valid working visa or ability to be sponsored (BA/BS degree or higher)
-Real enjoyment in working with children and impacting them positively
-Some Japanese language ability
-Some teaching experience
-Passion to study and learn Japanese culture

With the position, we offer permission to find additional work within the specifications of their visa. There is also the potential for additional work through the company on free days as a substitute.

All new ALT must obtain initial orientation and go through a basic medical check up, or provide a clean bill of health from a recent doctor visit.

Applicants who have the ability to arrive and undergo training with plenty of time to settle in before starting will receive priority, but we have interest in hearing from any qualified applicant.
