A well-established, renowned Japanese publishing giant is seeking an energetic, foreign, out-of-box thinker to join their corporate strategy team.

Position Type: Temp. to Perm.
Salary: 4.5 mil yen - 8 mil / year
Working hours: 9am to 5pm
Holidays: Sat/Sundays, national holidays, paid holidays, New year's/Golden-week/Summer/holidays

The focus of the role is on emerging opportunities and disruptive trends transforming their business (besides publishing, they also design/create educational materials, run schools/nursery homes/kindergartens).


The manager is responsible for analyzing and assessing market trends, consumer needs and competitive dynamics. This involves independent generation of ideas and solutions and business case development for strategic options including cost-benefit analysis, financial assessment and primary market research.

This requires significant interaction with business leaders and senior management in developing solutions and presenting options, business cases, and recommendations. The Manager will also ensure that decisions are implemented in an efficient and timely manner.

The Manager will take the lead role in articulating and communicating the results of strategic assessments. This may take the form of written reports, one-on-one conversations, and more formal group presentations. The Manager will also be responsible for articulating and communicating the overall company strategy to support the work of colleagues in functional departments.

Requirements:
- MBA highly desired, or advanced university degree
- Solid experience in corporate strategy, planning, management consulting, or other relevant field
- Independent idea generation and problem-solving
- Outstanding analytical, research, and presentation skills
- Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to interact and develop cross-industry relationships with people at all levels from diffrent functions
- Proven track record as a team player with strong business ethics
- Interest in academic/education fields is a huge plus
