Description

The ACCJ Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for the overall communications strategy of the organization, including branding and all print and online communication vehicles. He or she will be responsible for the oversight of all Marketing and Communications Department staff and interns. The Marketing and Communications Manager will support the primary marketing and communications goals of the organization, which are:

• To engage current members and communicate with them in an efficient and effective manner

• To recruit new members, both corporate and individual

• To increase brand awareness within Japan and in relevant markets abroad

• To ensure branding/image consistency and quality

Successful candidates for this position have exceptional written and oral communication skills in English, and business-level of Japanese; an advanced degree, preferably in business; and a minimum of 5 years experience in marketing and/or communications. Experience using InDesign or another similar desktop publishing program and experience writing web content and updating websites via a content management system is expected. Experience in Joomla is highly valued. Success in utilizing social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter etc.) for business promotion and community building, and a strong understanding of SEM and SEO is desired. Responsibilities include:

• Writing speeches, presentations, and articles as required; Editing and proofreading general communications and written materials

• Overseeing the ACCJ public website and micro sites, generating ideas for regular new content, ensuring quality control, managing advertisement placement, and promoting through ongoing SEM and other means

• Maintaining and enhancing the current social media strategy

• Analyzing results of regular marketing activities including website analytics, search engine rankings, email performance statistics, SNS activity etc., and tailoring the organization’s marketing strategies based on these results

• Designing and/or overseeing the creation of multimedia and online materials
