As a result of a need for greater resource in the Asia Pacific area an opportunity has arisen for a type approval engineer based in our Nagoya office. Although the post is based in the Japan office, the expectation is that this position will be part of the Asia Pacific engineering resource. This means that, together with other members of the type approval team, there may be some travel to assist in any one of our other offices in Asia Pacific, from Australia through Malaysia, China and Korea as well as to locations such as Thailand and Hong Kong.

Applications are invited from candidates who meet the following criteria:

A strong background in motor vehicle engineering, especially testing and validation, together with education to degree level in a science or engineering subject.

English native speakers with Japanese language proficiency to at least JLPT N3 or Japanese native speakers with English language proficiency to at least TOEIC 750.

Self-motivated with an ability to prioritise and organise their own work, particularly with regard to respecting deadlines;

An ability to adapt to changing priorities and workload;

Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively in a customer focused environment;

An ability and willingness to travel extensively;

Flexibility in working patterns.
