Akasaka International Law, Patent and Accounting Office, an international law firm based in Tokyo, is currently seeking a Legal Assistant from a common law jurisdiction to join our dedicated and experienced team of professionals. Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing English correspondences and legal documents such as contracts, research into laws in common law jurisdictions amongst other responsibilities, involving a variety of issues for clients across the globe, including corporate law, trademarks, torts, arbitration, securities and copyright.

Along with meeting the minimum requirements, the ideal candidate should be someone willing to learn, dedicated, detail orientated and, in particular, eager to be a team player to achieve successful results, as a team, for our clients.

This is a part time position starting in the afternoon from Monday to Friday.

Minimum Requirements:

 A law degree from a common law jurisdiction law school, or at least 2 years experience working at a law office in a common law jurisdiction as a paralegal or legal assistant.
 Native English Speaker.
 Excellent writing and research skills.
 Competency with using computers.

Preferred:

 Japanese basic conversation skills.
 Attorney License (or currently awaiting bar results).
 Experience working in a law office.
