描述

Established in 1985, Tokyo International School Group (TISG) runs Tokyo International School Afterschool (TISAS), Tokyo International School Kindergarten (TISKG) and Tokyo International School Learning Through English (TISLTE) at our Nakameguro, Minami Azabu, Komazawa, and Toritsudai model school campuses in Tokyo. We also have franchise campuses based in Kachidoki (Chuo-ku), Maruyama (Sapporo), Nishinomiya (Hyogo), and Chuo-ku (Fukuoka).

In April 2019 we started a new hybrid program that runs classes from Tuesday to Saturday. From Tuesday to Friday we run our TISAS program and on Saturday we run our TISLTE program.

TISAS is an after-school program that provides an immersion environment (children must attend at least 3 days per week) for non-native English speaking children. Students attend classes from 2 pm until 7 pm (the students arrive anytime between 2 pm and 4 pm). The first 2-hour block is called See, Hear and Wonder Time and is a guided play and homework time. Between 4 pm and 7 pm, we have 5 focused study blocks: Circle Time, Kinesthetic, Story Telling, Language Strategies, and Course Time. The Course Time is different each day: Monday is Food, Tuesday is Art, Wednesday is Music, Thursday is Our World, and Friday is Kids Force. Classes are separated by age group and the maximum number of students per class is 16.

The LTE classes, held on Saturdays, are once a week classes that are 90 minutes in length, with three class time slots in the day. Our LTE classes are open to children aged between 4 and 11 years of age with classes separated by age group and the maximum number of students per class is 16.

As the program is expanding we now have positions available at our Komazawa and Toritsudai campuses, as well as possibilities at one of our franchise client's campuses in Oimachi.

POSITION DETAILS: The workweek is from Tuesday to Saturday. Paid vacation days are every Sunday and Monday, public holidays, one week during summer, two weeks in winter, and five days of flexible leave. The daily work schedule is 11:30 am to 7:30 pm Tuesday to Friday, and 9:15 am to 5:15 pm on Saturday, but it must be mentioned that the Teacher is expected to put in the hours necessary to provide students with a learning experience of the highest possible quality.

IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a confident, dedicated, and passionate teacher. Candidates must have a university degree and two years of experience (ideally working with elementary students in Japan).

START DATE: April 1st, 2020.

COMPENSATION: The wage will be 280,000 per month for the first 3 month probation period and then 300,000 per month after probation. Transportation will be reimbursed up to 15,000 per month.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS: We will screen resumes to check that minimum requirements are met. Candidates will be contacted from early January to arrange face-to-face interviews at our Meguro HQ, or Skype web-interviews for those who live outside Tokyo. Candidates will be asked to bring with them their residence cards, passports, copies of qualifications and letters of reference. Following the first round of interviews candidates will be short-listed for a second round of interviews, which will include a trial lesson. At the completion of the second round interviews, a decision will be made. Once that final decision has been made we will contact all candidates to inform them of the decision. The successful candidate will then meet with us again to sign employment documentation.

We look forward to receiving your application.
