[Job Description]
Thank you for your interest in our posting.

We are looking for Research Mentors and Curriculum Developers as we launch a new international science high school, Manai Institute of Science and Technology.

Our new school is very different from the traditional high school system, where teachers merely teach subjects to students. Our program strongly focuses on students’ research. We believe that students most effectively learn and thrive by working on their own research, based on their interests, curiosity and passion. In order to make this research-driven program possible, mentors’ support and guidance are essential.

Also, we are preparing innovating materials and programs that complement our research-driven program. We are looking for people who are willing to design/create/build materials, experiments and workshops that are necessary for the students to deepen their studies. Specifically, we are looking for people from the fields of physics, engineering, as well as technical knowledge such as 3D modeling and machining

Mentors are staff who mentor Manai students and their research projects, studies and life in general and also contribute to the program development.
We are looking for mentors who:
- have science and research background, preferably in graduate school in a science or engineering field.
- is passionately pursuing something in science, technology and education.
- enjoys interacting with students.
- is flexible and robust in uncertainties and unpredictable situations.
- is not passive, but proactive.

The job includes, but is not limited to:
- mentor students
- design/create/build experiments and curriculum
- create/deliver workshops
- help run our seasonal programs
- guide students’ research and studies
- design and organize extra curricular events.
- build network with other researchers and other research institutes

We will discuss specific job descriptions for each mentor in order to maximize the performance and joy of mentors.

Thank you for your time and interest.
