Borderlink, Inc. is currently seeking Assistant Language Teachers (ALT) for elementary and junior high positions throughout central Tokyo. These positions start immediately and will go fast, so please apply now to secure a position!
As an ALT, you would be responsible for co-teaching with Japanese teachers, making activities and materials to facilitate English language instruction. You will also make the language "real" by interacting with students throughout the day to help them actively apply what they learn in class. The ideal candidate is flexible with their teaching style and wants to make a positive impact on the lives of the students.
Daily (part-time) positions are an excellent opportunity to further your teaching career at a more relaxed pace. They're a great change from working a monthly (full-time) schedule, and perfect for supplementing other income. These positions allow you to work some days out of the week (in accordance with the schedule) with non-working days left free for other commitments. General working hours are between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm (Actual working hours are within 7 hours 45 minutes).
If you're new to ALT work, working at a daily rate is a solid way to gain experience should you decide to transition to being a monthly position ALT in the future. For veteran ALTs, the daily position schedule and reduced workload grants you more freedom to pursue other interests and work outside of your school obligations. All ALTs with Borderlink are provided with a yearly calendar which will help manage their schedule.
If this sounds like the opportunity you've been waiting for, we're waiting to hear from you and are accepting applications today! We conduct Skype interviews regularly throughout the week, and welcome applicants from all over Japan. As mentioned, these positions will go fast, so please apply soon and let us know the location you're interested in working in! Thank you for reading!
*Please note that as we receive a high number of applicants, only those who pass the initial screening will be contacted for an interview.
