Description

K. International School Tokyo (KIST) is seeking a Laboratory and Library Assistant (LLA) for the 2019-2020 school year to support both its Secondary School science program and library services.

The main duties of the LLA include:
Laboratory related:
- Preparing materials necessary for lab-based lessons.
- Contributing to maintaining a safe environment for students within the science laboratories.
- Organizing the procurement, maintenance and storage of an adequate stock of materials, chemicals and lab apparatus equipment.
Library related:
- Supporting the teacher/librarian in maintaining, and further developing, efficient library services and routines that enable users to make effective use of the facilities and resources available.
- Organizing library resources and working with students and staff to locate appropriate resources.

Applications will be accepted from persons from any national background; however, communication skills in English are required. Communicative ability in Japanese is also highly desirable.

The initial contract period commences from July 2019 and continues through July 2020. Only applicants prepared to commit to this period should apply. Contract renewal may be possible depending on appraised work performance and school needs. Working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

In addition to the monthly salary, other benefits include:
