Description

Thank you for your interest in working for Project Genius, a concern of Korakuen English Centre. We aim to be the premier English language consultancy firm for private secondary schools in Japan.


Project GENIUS is looking for a motivated, adaptable, TESOL-experienced team player for a part-time (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) EFL teaching position teaching junior high school students at a all-girls Catholic secondary school in Setagaya ward in Tokyo. The nearest station is Soshigaya-Okura Station of Odakyu Line.

The Ideal Candidate

You have a valid working visa and are looking for a part time position on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings and afternoons to supplement your current work schedule.

You have experience teaching at a public or private secondary school in Japan and will be happy to join an already established team on-site. You should enjoy the process of lesson planning in a collaborative setting.
You are comfortable sharing and borrowing ideas from other teachers not only at your school but also through use of an online system to connect with educators throughout our organization.

You are willing to take initiative and discuss, professionally and diplomatically, with us and with our client school ways to maximize the value you and your fellow teachers add to the school and your students’
lives. You believe that teaching is an art in every sense of the word and that you and your team can always do better.

You are interested in being observed from time to time to receive constructive feedback on your teaching practices. You strive to get the best possible results at the school where you will be teaching, and are willing seek out opportunities to learn from other educators across the greater education community in and outside your school and our company.

Job Details

Applicants will have native English-level proficiency. Although not required, Japanese language skills will be helpful to communicate with teachers, staff, and students at our client school.

The salary will be 168,000 yen + transportation expenses per month for the duration of the contract. We occasionally provide a slightly higher rate for Master’s-level degree holders in Education or Linguistics-related fields.
