Preschool/Kindergarten Teacher (International School)（到期)

Global Step Academy International School is looking for experienced and creative preschool/kindergarten teachers to work with children ages 2-6 in an international environment. Both homeroom teacher and assistant teacher positions are available in the following areas:

・Tachikawa City (Tokyo)
・Chuo Rinkan, Yamato City (Kanagawa)
・Komazawa, Setagaya-ku (Tokyo)

Daily responsibilities include lesson planning and active participation in all student activities and school events. Teachers must have genuine interest in working and communicating with children of different nationalities, mother tongues and backgrounds.

[THE SCHOOL]
Global Step Academy International School provides high-quality education to children ages 2 to 6 in a relaxed, homelike atmosphere at over ten locations in the Kanto area (Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba). The school curriculum is based on the International Early Years Curriculum, but we are also focused on the teaching of sports (physical education, gymnastics, soccer), dance (hip-hop, jazz, ballet) and music. All non academic subjects are taught by specialist teachers. Lessons are taught in English, as about half of our students are mother tongue speakers.

[WORKING CONDITIONS]
Working Hours: 8 hours (mainly 8:30 to 16:30)
Working Days: Monday to Friday.
Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, Japanese National Holidays + 6 weeks of school holidays + personal leave days
Allowances: transportation fees reimbursement (up to 15,000/month), Social Insurance (Shakai Hoken) for full time employees and professional development opportunities.

[DUTIES]
・Develop and implement lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with the school philosophy.
・Assess and analyze students progress; refine and differentiate lesson plans based on assessment data and student needs.
・Involve parents and guardians as partners in their students’ education.
・Manage student behavior and identify unique student needs.
・Actively participate in professional development activities, and work closely with colleagues.
・Maintain accurate student records and attendance.
・Support the mission, vision, and core values of Global Step Academy.
・Perform other school-related duties (school bus attending, classroom cleaning and inventory).

[REQUIRED SKILLS]
・Knowledge of child cognitive development.
・Ability to understand and arrange qualitative and quantitative student data.
・Ability to assess students of different mother tongues and backgrounds.
・Ability to collaborate with parents and colleagues.

[MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL LEVEL AND EXPERIENCE]
・Bachelors degree or equivalent.
・At least three years experience working with preschool (age 2 to 6) students.
・Valid early childhood teaching credentials are highly preferred.
