Teaching position / Ichikawa Funabashi Tsuchiura Tokyo(Koto-ku, Bunkyo-ku)

We are looking for bright positive people to come join our team of international kindergarten teachers. We are a relatively new school and are looking to expand, so chances for advancement and longer term contracts possible for those looking to live long term in Japan.
The school is a chance to teach kids from many different countries (mainly Japanese) full time and guide them through their first years of life.
It is important to note that we are not an Eikaiwa school. The teachers will have their own fulltime class and be with them all day, teaching and looking after them (in public schools they will also be working with licensed Japanese teachers). We teach all in English and fully immerse the kids in that language (native English speakers preferred).
Having taught at a kindergarten before is a big advantage as it is a very different environment than elementary age and up. Having some experience controlling your own class is also a help.

Staying positive and creating a fun and happy place for the students to learn is crucial.
You will be in control of a class from ages 1-6 years old (classes separated by age).
We will also consider people that don’t have experience but are willing to give it their all. When you start you will have help and on the job training teaching in your own class, with the full help of all the rest of the team.
Looking after young children is a very rewarding experience and there can be a lot of joy from watching them learn and grow. It is also a very physically demanding job that requires a lot of energy and a good natured temperament.

Someone with a drive and passion for teaching would be great as teaching is not for everyone. We are looking to create a great future for the kids and you will be a big part of that.
You will have freedom to teach the class what you want and able to create your own lesson. (We have basic A great experience and chance to grow as a person and enhance your teaching skills.

1) Milky Way public school teaching 3-6 years old. Providing solo teaching English lessons to 3 classes a day. Then working with a licensed Japanese nursery teacher and being active in class lessons and child care of the students for the rest of the day.

-Milky Way International Nursery School (public schools):
Gyoutoku(Apr 2019～), Shinfunabashi(Apr 2019～)

-Milky Way International Nursery Center (Company- driven schools supported by Cabinet Office) are:
Tsuchiura (Ibaraki), Shimousanakayama (ichikawa city, Chiba)(May 2019～)

2) Milky Way Private school (Milky Way International Preschool Motoyawata, Chiba)

This is our private school and here the English teacher will be the main teacher of the class ( solo teaching) and be in charge of all aspects of the students life and education while at school. The teacher will need to have experience in having their own class and creating fun lessons on a daily basis. They will also need good communication and class/time management skills.
This position has a lot of responsibilities but the connection and enjoyment you get from your class is worth the effort put in. The teacher will be part of an international team of teachers to help support them.
As this role requires more skill and work the pay at our private schools is higher.

3) ・Cover teacher- responsible for covering teachers at different schools. Needs to check the day before the following work day to find out where the assistance will be needed. This will also include a school in Ochanomizu, in which we outsource an English teacher three times a week for half a day.
*After one year, all cover teachers will be considered for a ‘Main Teacher’ position.

4) ・Ochanomizu Teacher
Same as cover teacher but with main focus on the Ochanomizu school.
*Please note, that while working for any one of our schools, we have a variety of responsibilities, some of which may be difficult to do depending on the age of the children in the class. For example in younger classes, changing diapers, cleaning toilets, and taking care of sick children.
*For training, you might be asked to work at different schools.

【Contract】
・Renewable one year (We are looking for someone to be able to commit to a full school year (Apr-Mar) with us. )
・A pay review every year
・We have a competitive starting salary (Basically first 3 months is the trial period, after that we might adjust your salary, depend on your performance during period).

-Example of the teachers salary(1)

1st year with our company / Native speaker of English / without any lisense of childcare or teaching English / No Experience in childcare
Basic salary + Other allowance = JPY 220,000 Monthly (JPY 2,640,000 Yearly)

-Example of the teachers salary(2)

2nd year with our company / Native speaker of English / Graduated University / Has TESOL / Experience in childcare
Basic salary + Other allowance + Bonus= JPY 250,000Monthly (JPY 3,000,000 Yearly) +Bonus

From 2nd Year, you will have a chance to get bonus which is dependent on company and your performance.

【Working Hours】
・Standard working days and hours - 9 hours a day with break, Monday to Friday, weekends off.
・Some school events will be held on a Saturday (up to 6 times a year, which is included in your basic working hours/Salary)
・10 days paid holiday per year for the first year (After being with us for 6months) with an extra 3 bonus days off in summer.

【Company benefits】
・Transportation allowance up to JPY15,000 a month.

・Bonuses will be paid twice a year, according to our business performance and your performance. (After being with us for a year)
