Are you interested in pursuing a teaching career in Japan? If so, this is your chance to take that next step and become an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) with Borderlink. We're looking for energetic and adventurous individuals to join our team and work in elementary and junior high schools across Japan starting from April 2019.

As an ALT, you will get to experience Japanese culture in a unique and exciting way. You'll interact with children and adults on a regular basis, sharing your insight and knowledge with them from the start of school to the end of every day. You'll get to try new things and participate in clubs, festivals, and activities you may have never thought possible. You'll become part of something important as you help enrich the community of your schools and shape the futures of your students.

At Borderlink, we believe that the role of the ALT is to make English real, taking it beyond being just another subject they learn from a textbook and into something fun and valuable. Not only are we teachers, but we're also cultural ambassadors, and our interactions with our students goes beyond the classroom.

Along with the Japanese teachers, we talk with students in the halls or between classes. We eat lunch with them, play with them during recess, and join them in cleaning time at school. As you teach them, you'll also learn from them, and enjoy a chapter of your life that will stay with you forever.

Whether you have some prior experience or are entirely new to teaching, we will help you develop and polish your skills. We provide you with extensive training prior to placement, and will continue to do so throughout your time working with us.

As ALTs work at public schools in Japan, applicants should have some proficiency in the Japanese language, or a strong desire to learn it. We will do our best to help beginners, as well as more experienced speakers, grow and strengthen their abilities.

Our support staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to assist you as you get settled into the job. We provide help with immigration, finding apartments, banking, relocation issues, and getting acclimated to the Japanese school environment and general daily life.

We will also provide intensive training over a week-long period to get you ready to take that first step into your school and the exciting, enriching world of education. Our training support continues throughout the year, with seasonal sessions designed to expand your teaching techniques and sharpen your abilities. We are here to help ensure your success - but we can't do it alone. That's why we need you!

--For Student Visa Holders--

We are now offering those with a Student Visa a chance to apply for a Spring 2019 start. The main requirement is a minimum of 12 years of education in which English was the medium of instruction. Beyond that, we will help you determine if you are eligible for a part-time or full-time position during our in-house orientation sessions.

These sessions and interviews will be held twice a week during weekdays starting from July 20th until August 31st (excluding August 13, 14, 15, 16). If you are unable to attend during our summer orientation, additional orientation sessions will be held at a later date.

After you apply we will confirm your availability and guide you to the most convenient session for you to attend. All student visa holders are welcome. We're looking forward to seeing you there!
