School Description
English Studio is a well-established English language school offering a variety of classes to ESL and Returnee students. Inquiry learning forms the basis of our learning programs: we believe the best way to engage and motivate students is through fun, creative learning which stimulates students’ natural curiosity in the world around them, and develops their openness to new experiences. Position Overview
English Studio is looking for a dedicated, energetic Head Teacher with a passion for education, and the ability to nurture teachers’ skills as learning facilitators. You will oversee a team of 4 full-time and 3 part-time native English teachers, play a guiding role in curriculum development, and liaise closely with the Managing Directors to achieve school objectives.



Main Working Responsibilities

Academic Duties
- Supervise effective implementation of English Studio curricula via staff professional development
- Oversee curriculum and resource development
- Teach up to 20 hours in a weekly 40 hour block time period (Tuesday to Saturday)

Management Duties
- Liaise with management and teachers to address teaching-related and other performance issues
- Recruit teaching staff
- Oversee lesson cover

Qualifications
Required: BA/BSc. or equivalent
Preferred : MA/MEd. PGCE or other post-graduate teaching qualification


Experience
Required
- Minimum 3 years teaching young learners on inquiry- learning based courses or IB PYP
- Team leadership, preferably in an educational setting
- Curriculum development experience
Preferred
- Facilitating staff training and professional development

Required Skills
- Ability to understand core aims of an educational program
- Knowledge of range of learning strategies and approaches
- Working knowledge of child development
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Preferred Skills
- Identifying and prioritising school, team and personal goals effectively
- Facilitating effective group and individual training sessions
