Requirements

  • English: Business level (preferred)
  • Japanese: Native level
  • More than 3 Years’ experience in Automotive industry. Experienced in product development from acquisition to the start of production.
  • Good communication skills, experienced in face to face with customers, suppliers etc. Experience in Project management.
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree (BS, MS, PHD等)
  • Visa sponsorship available

Description

Main purpose of job (duties and responsibilities in brief)
The Core Engineer is responsible for achieving assigned projects.
- Achieving the approved Project Proposal KPI/Target
- Completing tasks stated in Product Development Process (PEP)
- Strictly meeting customer and internal project milestones (timeline)
- Meeting agreed upon customer/internal product performance requirements
- Meeting customer and internal quality and environmental requirements
- Achieving customer satisfaction
- Leading improvement activities (e.g., product quality, project KPI)
Specific duties and responsibilities
1. Complete tasks/responsibilities entailed in Project Management Handbook
2. Manage projects according to PEP, and ensure that Process System, Norm, and other applicable internal standards are followed by project teams.
3. Hold/attend periodic Project Team Meetings. Responsible for attending the Company’s Project Progress meeting (CPM) and preparing and submitting reports together with team members.
4. Attend meetings of each Function (e.g., Design, Purchase, Production Technology, etc.), as required, and get involved actively for achieving project targets.
5. Supervise prototype process, including customer order, component procurement, and build plan.
6. Facilitate the resolution of program issues, cross-functional/cross-departmental issues, and resource conflicts with other projects/departments.
7. Responsible for project launch, including ensuring launch readiness and that proper launch support has been defined and coordination of activities to close the launch.
8. Discuss/negotiate the sales price of project products with customers based on the coordination with the related internal departments and contribute to the achievement of project targets.
9. Carry out and promote activities and plans for acquiring new businesses in Japan.
10. Submit/prepare the necessary information/materials for assigned projects for internal management plan (MAUS, Investment, Capacity, etc.) Specialized knowledge and skills Project management skill, Understanding of design principles in automotive Industry、knowledge of target costing and value analysis
