Description

Cambridge International School is looking for an experienced (2 years), native English speaking pre-school teacher for a toddler class (age 1-3), at a small but growing International school near Shibuya.

We are particularly interested in those candidates who have love and great enthusiasm and affection for working with very young children. We are also looking for those who are happy to be part of a team and work in a small school environment.

All our classes are small as our philosophy is based upon generating communicational activity as the children engage in various tasks. By working in close interaction with the teacher the children establish the associated communication that comes with the activity as well as its rationale. Further to this they also establish a critical awareness of the the task in which they are engaged.

Duties include teaching the school's academic program, designing and developing curriculum, and working with the other teachers, staff and parents, so requires very good communicating skills in English. We offer a full academic program to our students including language arts, Jolly Phonics, numeracy, arts & crafts etc., and at the end of each day's study we issue a report outlining student learning and engagement using various metrics.

The schedule is Monday through Friday. All candidates must currently reside in Japan and have valid visa status though we will sponsor and re-new visas. This is a good position for the right candidate to further develop their teaching and to help develop the quality of the school's programs, as well as communicate that quality to the local community. Candidates will also have the opportunity for professional development as the school supports teacher development.

To apply for this position please send an up-to-date resume (with photo), and a cover letter outlining your interest in and experience for the position.
