Description

Project GENIUS (Operating Company: Korakuen English Centre) needs someone that is highly motivated, adaptable, TESOL-experienced, as well as being a team player. And we are now taking applications from native English teachers seeking PART TIME employment from April, 2017 at a certain private Catholic girls’ Jr. & Sr. high school in Tokyo (Setagaya Ward). The number of working day is “three days” a week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) .

• Salary for this three-day part-time position: 168,000 yen + transportation expenses.
• You get paid the same amount every month, even during summer and winter vacation. Other agencies cut teacher pay while school is not in session. We do not do that.
• Location is Tokyo, Setagaya Ward. The nearest station is Soshigaya-Okura (Odakyu Line). Some other commercial buses are available from Seijyo-gakuen, Chofu, Yoga, Futako-tamagawa, Toritsu-daigaku, Denen-chofu.

The position begins in April of 2017. We will not be considering candidates that are not prepared to commit to a full year. Also, we won’t accept applications from overseas.

We expect our teachers to take initiative in the work that they do, to problem-solve with us and with the client school, to find ways to maximize their value-added.

Project GENIUS has a long history of working with many different schools. Many of them are exceptional and serve as feeder schools to institutions like Keio and Tokyo University. None of them works perfectly. We want our teachers to notice what could be better, and we want our teachers to focus on finding ways to make it better. But we also want people that are able to see the good in what others are trying to do.

When you work for ProjectGENIUS, you are part of a larger network. The expectation is that you will share ideas with and borrow ideas from teachers that work at our other client schools. If you enjoy the prospect of building something new and innovative in collaboration with a diverse team of educators, then we can create opportunities for you to grow with us. We are developing online solutions for this purpose, and we expect our teachers to work with us in optimizing the effectiveness of these online solutions.

If you are sensitive about sharing your ideas or allowing your managers or other teachers to learn about the details of what you do in the room, then this might not be the right job for you. If however, you lack experience, but have raw talent, and a sincere desire to be great, then you should seriously consider working for us.

Applicants should reply with a cover letter that shows evidence of their having read this entire job post. It might also be a good idea to check out our web-site.

Teaching is an art in every sense of the word. We believe that we can always do better. And that's what makes us the best.
