ALT/Education Company Office Staff Member (English native)（期限切れ）

Heart English School seeks candidates for consideration to work in our office, with a possibility either in our Nihonbashi, Tokyo office or our main office in Mito, the capital of Ibaraki. We also have a Yokohama office, and there may be an option to work there in the future.

The job entails many roles required of the foreign staff in an ALT business. This includes recruitment of teachers, training of new ALTs, translation, English correction, materials creation, and substitution at schools if needed. For a new foreign staff member, the most likely roles are recruitment and substitution while developing the skills to complete more tasks. The responsibilities and work schedule are more demanding than typical English teaching in Japan, but the position is a chance to develop skills in Japanese business that can lead to advancement within the company or eventually elsewhere in Japanese society.

Candidates shoud:

-Speak English at a native level
-Have a reasonable level of Japanese language ability in speaking and reading
-Legally drive in Japan (although owning a car is not needed)
-Have at least 2 years of ALT experience in multiple school levels
-Be generally computer literate, being able to use office software

Here are the conditions to start:

-Basically, work in the Tokyo office (Nihonbashi) or in the Mito office
-8:45 to 5:45, or 8:00 to 5:00 with one hour for lunch
-252 days in the year (240 days in the normal work calendar plus one Saturday per month, on a shift system, and note that some national holidays are worked in exchange for longer breaks elsewhere)
-20 hours of overtime pre-paid into the contract (with more hours worked paid in addition)
-To start 220,000 yen including the overtime inclusion
-After 3 months, the base amount is increased 10,000 yen
-After an additional 3 months (6 months total), the base amount is increased 10,000 yen
-Additional overtime pay in addition for each hour worked overtime after 20 hours monthly
-Paid holiday starting the month after 6 months of work completed
-Required transportation for work (school visits, substitution) is paid by the company
-Before starting, up to 2 weeks of trial would take place in the Mito or Tokyo office, or a combination. If in Mito we can provide a stay in a nearby apartment, and in either case would provide 800 yen per hour as a stipend for normal hours spent in the office, up to 8 per day.
-For candidates who show better than expected quality, skill, and determination at the start, there is the possibility to begin on the higher salary point.
