ALT Substitute Teacher Staff (expired)

We are currently looking for bright, friendly and energetic teachers who enjoy working with children of all ages (elementary to high school) to substitute for our current assistant language teachers on days when they cannot go to school. As a substitute teacher you will be working closely with Japanese teachers to provide fun and educational English lessons to Japanese students in public schools nationwide. Substitute assignments can last anywhere from a day to a couple of weeks or even longer. As a substitute you will not be obligated to take any specific job, though, and you may freely choose to accept or decline individual assignments we offer based on your availability. It is possible to request to be contacted only if the position would match predetermined conditions regarding rate, location, or other factors.

Location: Elementary, junior high, and high schools in the greater Kanto area (Tokyo, Saitama, Kanagawa, Shizuoka, Ibaraki, Chiba, Gunma, Tochigi, Yamanashi prefectures) with the majority of positions in the Greater Tokyo area.
Working days: As needed; Mondays-Fridays (ex. national holidays/school holidays)
Time: 8:00/9:00AM- last class (times vary)
Daily Wage: 9,000-12,500 yen per day worked (transportation allowance already included)
* We will also provide training for those who do not have much experience.

Requirements:
Must be fluent in English (preferably with experience teaching English)
Appropriate working visa
Must currently reside in Japan

Please also understand that no work is promised by this ad as specific assignments are determined by unforseen circumstances. Working substitute assignments simply can be a great way to supplement your income if you have a free and flexible schedule. Even if you do become a substitute, you will always be free to work other positions or keep looking for work as you please. If you do happen to find a job that would leave you unable to work as a substitute, you could just let us know at any time, and we would take you off our calling list.
