Public School Assistant Teaching in Hokkaido (July 2016)（期限切れ）

We are looking for native English speakers who live or wish to live near the Sapporo city area of Hokkaido and can work with us from July 1 (with orientation in June) through March of next year.

Positions may be in any number of elementary schools in the area.

The main duties of an ALT are to provide fun and effective English lessons and internationalize Japanese youth. It is important for ALTs to help bridge this gap by giving students first-hand knowledge and experience of different cultures, as well as providing fun and effective English lessons. Although teaching is an important part of the job, essentially teachers get to play and have fun with students and get paid for it!

The rate would vary from 11000-12000 yen per day, varying based on location and specific hours and other conditions. (Some conditions are still being determined.) Working hours follow the school schedule, starting in the morning and finishing in the afternoon. All days in the normal school schedule are worked, so please note monthly salary varies based on the workload.

Basic conditions of this position:

- Native English ability
- Hold a university (or equivalent) before your starting date.
- Basic Japanese speaking ability (or at least a desire to learn)
- Some teaching experience or experience working with children
- Desire and ability to live and work in northern Japan and be independent

*Although these are not strict requirements, those who meet these requirements will be given preference.
