Immediate Public School Assistant Teaching in Itako City, Ibaraki（期限切れ）

We are looking for native English speakers who live or wish to live in or near Itako city of Ibaraki and can work with us from as soon as possible through March of next year.

The position would involve visiting six elementary schools in the city. Driving ability is necessary.

The main duties of an ALT are to provide fun and effective English lessons and internationalize Japanese youth. It is important for ALTs to help bridge this gap by giving students first-hand knowledge and experience of different cultures, as well as providing fun and effective English lessons. Although teaching is an important part of the job, essentially teachers get to play and have fun with students and get paid for it! Many teachers play sports and games, or join clubs like kendo, judo, soccer, and so on after school.

The rate would vary from 11500-12000 yen per day, varying based on specific qualities involving experience of the candidate. (Some conditions are still being determined.) Working hours follow the school schedule, starting at 8:30 in the morning and finishing at 4:00 in the afternoon.

Basic conditions of this position:

- Native English ability
- Hold a university (or equivalent) before your starting date.
- Basic Japanese speaking ability (or at least a desire to learn)
- Some teaching experience or experience working with children
- Desire and ability to live and work in a foreign country and thus be independent
- Legal driving ability in Japan

*Although these are not strict requirements, those who meet these requirements will be given preference.
