Immediate Assistant English Teacher in Numazu, Shizuoka (April 2016)（期限切れ）

We are looking for native English speakers who live or wish to live in or near Numazu, Shizuoka and can work with us from April. We recently found we have need for two more ALTs immediately, and are especially searching for candidates who can work right away.

Positions may be in one or more elementary schools, junior high schools, or a combination.

The main duties of an ALT are to provide fun and effective English lessons and internationalize Japanese youth. It is important for ALTs to help bridge this gap by giving students first-hand knowledge and experience of different cultures, as well as providing fun and effective English lessons. Although teaching is an important part of the job, essentially teachers get to play and have fun with students and get paid for it! Many teachers play sports and games, or join clubs like kendo, judo, soccer, and so on after school.

The salary for this position is determined by specific school placement and certain conditions including specific days and hours, and is of one of two options. It may or may not be possible to choose which is available as we only have one position of each that is currently possible:

OPTION 1
220,000 yen per month, excepting the following:
Daily rate of 12,000 yen times number of days worked for months with 16 days or less, and
100,000 yen for the holiday month of August (which may have a few days of work)

OPTION 2
205,000 yen per month, excepting the following:
Daily rate of 11,000 yen times number of days worked for months with 16 days or less, and
80,000 yen for the holiday month of August (which may have a few days of work)

Basic conditions of this position:

- Native English ability
- Hold a university (or equivalent) before your starting date.
- Basic Japanese speaking ability (or at least a desire to learn)
- Some teaching experience or experience working with children
- Desire and ability to live and work in a foreign country and thus be independent

*Although these are not strict requirements, those who meet these requirements will be given preference.

Numazu city is in our contracted care through the 2018-19 school year, so good teachers who can continue in future years can feel secure in moving there.)
