New Pathway is looking for mentor-instructors who can teach in its middle school program. The mentor will teach high-achieving students, ages 10-14, in a variety of literature, language and leadership focused courses. Duties will include, but not be limited to, managing small classroom discussions, facilitating group learning activities, providing one-on-one academic support, and giving timely and useable feedback on student assignments. Teachers will also be required to contribute to the development of curriculum, and attend staff development meetings.
The ELA program is newly redesigned and being prepared to expand to multiple cities in China. Teachers for the program will find themselves in a position to gain experience in curriculum development and teacher training. Each of our three Shanghai campuses provide teachers with projectors, wifi access, whiteboard, access to printer and copier. Additionally, materials, lesson plans, and training will be provided. New Pathway was founded by American expats with degrees from top universities in the states, and as we expand we will continue to have a professional, organized, and supportive environment.
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelors degree
Minimum 1 year teaching experience, preferably middle school
Native English speaker, North American strongly preferred
A proven team-player who can work effectively with people with diverse backgrounds and experiences
Evidence of leadership potential and a stated interest in growing as a professional
Excellent communication skills
