Description

K. International School Tokyo (KIST), an IB World School, is the only school in Tokyo fully authorized to offer the three IB programs: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). Founded in 1997, almost all of its graduates have been successful in gaining entry to universities or colleges around the world, many with full or partial scholarships. In the 2015-2016 academic year, KIST students achieved an average score of 36 points out of a possible 45 in the IB Diploma making KIST the highest ranking school offering the IB Diploma in Japan.

KIST is seeking a part-time School Laboratory Technician to support its Secondary School science program, commencing from April 2016. The main duties of the technician include:
- Preparing equipment, chemicals and supplies for physics, chemistry and biology labs.
- Contributing to maintaining a safe environment for students within the science labs.
- Assisting science teachers in supervising and conducting lab activities.
- Organizing the procurement, maintenance and storage of an adequate stock of chemicals and apparatus.

Applications will be accepted from persons from any national background; however, communication skills in English is required. Skills in Japanese are also highly desirable.

The initial contract period will commence in April 2016 and continue through June 2017. Contract renewal may be possible depending on appraised work performance and school needs. Working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

In addition to the hourly salary, other benefits include:
- Reimbursement for commuter expenses up to a maximum of 1,000 yen per work day.
