Job Description: European Advertising Sales Manager

Vantage Shanghai

Aquaspace Media & Advertising Co. Ltd (Aqua Media) is a media company based in Shanghai. We are looking to establish a media platform in China with a reputation for new and thought-provoking perspective and content, starting with Vantage Shanghai magazine.

Vantage Shanghai is the first bi-monthly bilingual magazine in Shanghai that is focused on bringing the most original, thought provoking and inspiring ideas in culture, design, art, travel, luxury and lifestyle to our readers. From ground-breaking architecture to emerging artists, from daredevil adventures to philosophical debates, Vantage Shanghai gives readers the chance to enjoy intellectual luxuries in life and indulge their minds.

Vantage Shanghai is staffed by a close-knit, young and dynamic team and we are now looking for an experienced and talented advertising sales professional to join our team as the Director of Sales. The successful candidate will enjoy facing new challenges, be motivated to succeed beyond expectations, is willing to roll their sleeves up and get their hands dirty and most important to have a great sense of humor


Responsibilities

As one of our European Sales team, you will be targeting European companies (either via their local offices based in China, or directly to their HQ in Europe)

1. Deliver and exceed advertising sales target
- Deliver agreed sales target both as an individual and as a sales function
- Track ongoing sales performance vs. target, esp. advertising revenue, cash maximisation and page yield
- Provide regular sales performance reports to Sales Director and Managing Director
- Maintain an up-to-date client data base

2. Contribute towards the building of Advertising Sales function at Vantage Shanghai
- Work with the rest of the sales team to develop sales strategy for Vantage Shanghai, including framework to prioritise industry & prospective clients, timeline to develop client relationship, packaging of advertising opportunities, including online, and analysis of latest competitive landscape
- Help develop sales pitch for Vantage Shanghai, including our positioning in the competitive landscape, our unique value proposition, our advertising packages and rate cards
- Work to define and improve clear processes within the sales function and for working with other functions, including Finance, Legal and Editorial

3. Represent Vantage Shanghai and Aqua Media to the market
- Develop and extend network amongst our target client base
- Work with Marketing team to develop events aimed at building and cementing relationship with clients and reputation of Vantage Shanghai in the market
- Be ambassador for Vantage Shanghai & Aqua Media and demonstrate our company values through all interactions


Requirements:

- Minimum 3 years of sale experience (ideally in media industry). Experience in print media is preferred; Sales experience in luxury or high-fashion magazines is mostly welcomed.
- Demonstrable success in acquiring and growing client accounts
- Extensive network with accounts in luxury brands. High-Fashion, high class restaurant , wine, liquor and automobile brands, etc.
- Appearance in line with the quality of luxury magazine
- Good command of English is essential
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
- Professional attitude and approach to business
- Can work on own initiative and show enthusiasm
