Established in September 2011, Global Institute (GI) runs Tokyo International School Afterschool (TISAS), Tokyo International School Learning Through English (TISLTE) and Tokyo International School Kindergarten (TISKG) at our Nakameguro and Minami Azabu campuses.
TISAS is an after school program that provides an immersion environment (children must attend at least 3 days per week) for non-native English speaking children. Students attend classes from 4pm until 7pm. We have 5 focused study blocks: Circle Time, Kinesthetic, Story Telling, Language Strategies, and Course Time. The Course Time is different each day: Monday is Food, Tuesday is Art, Wednesday is Music, Thursday is Our World, and Friday is Kids Force. Classes are separated by age group and the maximum number of students per class is 16.
We are currently looking to hire a Teacher who will join a team of five other full time Afterschool teachers at the Minami Azabu model school campus from the 14th of December, 2015.
POSITION DETAILS: The work week is Monday to Friday. Paid vacation days are every Saturday and Sunday, public holidays, one week during summer, two weeks in winter, and five days of flexible leave. The daily work schedule is 12:30pm to 19:30pm, but it must be mentioned that the Teacher is expected to put in the hours necessary to provide students with a learning experience of the highest possible quality.
IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a confident, dedicated, and passionate teacher. Candidates must have a university degree and two years experience (ideally working with elementary students in Japan).
LOCATION: The school is located near Shirokane Takanawa station on the Namboku and Mita subway lines.
START DATE: December 14th, 2015.
COMPENSATION: The wage will be 280,000 per month. The first three months is a probation period. Transportation will be reimbursed up to 15,000 per month.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS: We will screen resumes to check that minimum requirements are met. Candidates will be contacted to arrange face-to-face interviews at our Meguro HQ, or Skype web-interviews for those who live outside Tokyo. Candidates will be asked to bring with them their residence cards, passports, copies of qualifications and letters of reference. Following the first round of interviews candidates will be short-listed for a second round of interviews, which will include a trial lesson. At the completion of the second round interviews a decision will be made. Once that final decision has been made we will contact all candidates to inform them of the decision. The successful candidate will then meet with us again to sign employment documentation.
We look forward to receiving your application.
