Description

Project GENIUS (Operating Company: Korakuen English Centre) needs someone that is highly motivated, adaptable, TESOL-experienced, as well as being a team player. The job at the client school where you would be is a full-time position. The school is a private middle school and high school (consolidated school) in Shiga prefecture near Lake Biwa, which is the biggest lake in Japan. This school is surrounded by many Japanese historic sites and it is also relatively close to Kyoto City.

• Salary: 280,000 yen + housing cost of up to 50,000 yen.
• You get paid the same amount every month, even during summer and winter vacation. Other agencies cut teacher pay while school is not in session. We do not do that.
• If you have an MA in a field relating to Linguistics or if you have a license to teach in your home country, you may qualify for a higher salary.
• Consequently, this is a full-time, full-academic year commitment. We do not strictly prohibit employees from working other jobs on the side, but you must prioritize this job over those commitments.

The position begins in September of 2015. We will not be considering candidates that are not prepared to commit to a full academic year.

The school is heavily invested in its English program as it is accredited as a super English language high school by the Ministry of Education.

We expect our teachers to take initiative in the work that they do, to problem-solve with us and with the client school, to find ways to maximize their value-added.

We want our teachers to notice what could be better, and we want our teachers to focus on finding ways to make it better. But we also want people that are able to see the good in what others are trying to do.

Applicants should reply with a cover letter that shows evidence of their having read this entire job post. It might also be a good idea to check out our web-site.

Teaching is an art in every sense of the word. We believe that we can always do better. And that's what makes us the best.
