Akasaka International Law, Patent and Accounting Office, an international law firm based in Tokyo, is currently seeking a common law specialist to join our dedicated and experienced team of professionals. Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing English correspondences and legal documents such as contracts. Additionally, a large part of your work will include conducting legal research with regards to a variety of English-speaking jurisdictions (particularly in developing countries) and drafting legal articles for our website, blogs and other publications.
Along with meeting the minimum requirements, the ideal candidate should be someone willing to learn, passionate, detail-orientated and, in particular, able to take the initiative as well as eager to be a team player to achieve successful results as a team for our clients.
This is a part-time position in the afternoon from Monday to Friday.
Minimum Requirements:
A law degree from a common law jurisdiction, or at least 2 years experience working at a law office in a common law jurisdiction as a paralegal or legal assistant
Native English Speaker
Excellent writing and research skills
Competency with using computers
Preferred:
Japanese and French language abilities
Law License
Experience working in a law office
Experience drafting legal articles and legal blogs
