Description

Established in September 2011, Global Institute (GI) runs Tokyo International School Afterschool (TISAS), Tokyo International School Kindergarten (TISKG) and Tokyo International School Learning Through English (TISLTE) at our Nakameguro and Minami Azabu campuses. In April 2014 we started working with two new franchise companies to open new campuses in Tokyo and Sapporo. In July, 2015, we will open a new franchise campus in Nishinomiya for a company called Seibunkan. This new campus will be called the Shukugawa campus.

The new Shukugawa campus will start with a TISAS program and a TISLTE program. Students in the TISAS program are required to attend between 3 and 5 days per week making for an immersion environment. However, there are a number of students who are unable to attend multiple times per week and so the TISLTE program provides classes once per week of 90, 110 and 180 minutes in length. Students are placed in classes based on their age with the program open to kindergarten and elementary students.

We are currently looking to hire one Teacher for the TISLTE program.

POSITION DETAILS: The work week is Tuesday to Saturday. Paid vacation days are every Sunday and Monday, public holidays, five days paid leave (after the first 6 months of employment), and two weeks in winter (there will be a one week summer vacation from next year but as the position starts in summer this year there will be no summer vacation). The basic daily work schedule is 11:00am to 8:00pm during the week and 9:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday, however the actual block of work hours may shift forward or back depending on the individual campuses.

IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a confident, dedicated, and passionate teacher. Candidates must have a university degree and two years experience (ideally working with elementary students in Japan).

LOCATION: The school is located near Kurakuen-guchi station on the Hankyu Koyo line and Shukugawa station on the Hankyu Kobe line.

START DATE: The start date is between July 20th and August 3rd, 2015.

TRAINING: A training period of 1 week will be held prior to the start of classes.

COMPENSATION: The starting wage will be between 260,000 and 280,000 per month. Participation in the Social Insurance and Pension is required (company contributions are made on top of the stated wage level with teacher contributions being deducted from the wage). Transportation is reimbursed up to 50,000 per month.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS: GI is providing a recruitment service for Seibunkan. GI will screen resumes to check that minimum requirements are met. Candidates who meet the requirements will be contacted to arrange face-to-face interviews for teachers who are able to come to our Tokyo HQ, or Skype web-interviews for those who can’t. Candidates will be asked to bring with them their residence cards, passports, copies of qualifications and letters of reference. Following the first round of interviews candidates will be short-listed for a second round of interviews, which will include a trial lesson. These second round interviews will be conducted with Seibunkan staff and they will make the final decision. Once that final decision has been made GI will contact all candidates to inform them of the decision. The successful candidate will meet with Seibunkan to sign employment documentation.

We look forward to receiving your application.
