Our client is quite possibly the most iconic guitar maker of all time, played by some of the world’s greatest and most legendary rock musicians. Due to strategic growth plans, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity exists for a talented brand manager, to help drive sales and marketing strategy forward in the region. The role will initially be based in Tokyo, with a likely relocation to Hong Kong after 18 months, in order to assume regional, brand management responsibility for North Asia and be well-positioned for a push into countries such as China, Taiwan, Malaysia & Thailand.

Reporting to the VP Marketing Asia, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products, services and product lines resonate with existing and potential new dealers. You will regularly visit the assigned dealer network, execute in-store campaigns, assist dealer sales staff with promotions, monitor both marketing trends and competitive products, as well as generally ensure that the brand is being represented according to the company’s highest standards. Specific responsibilities include meeting assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts, managing strategic sell-through plans and direction for each specific dealer and meeting dealer needs on an ongoing basis, which ultimately help to deliver high customer satisfaction ratings.
The successful candidate will be tertiary educated, with 5 to 10 years relevant, professional experience in a marketing, brand management or channel selling role and will possess strong bilingual language skills (English/Japanese) as well as a passion for contemporary music. Candidates who play guitar and who can demonstrate awareness of the local music scene and trends will be highly-regarded, as will those having a background in FMCG, luxury goods/brands or lifestyle products.
