Description

Description: Established in September 2011, Global Institute (GI) runs Tokyo International School Afterschool (TISAS) and Tokyo International School Kindergarten (TISKG) at our Nakameguro, Minami Azabu and Roppongi Arc Hills campuses. Starting in April 2015, GI will be working with a number of new franchisees to open new campuses around Japan. The fifth new campus will be opened by a company named Rensei Inc. and will be based in Sapporo

TISKG is a three-year international kindergarten program that provides an immersion environment (children must attend at least 3 days per week) for non-native English speaking children. Students attend classes from 9:15am until 2pm. The first year of this program is an immersion focus where the aim is to build a solid base of communicative ability. In the second year the students are introduced to the inquiry learning model and this style of learning is further reinforced in the third year. The maximum number of students per class is 14.

We are currently looking to hire a Head Teacher who will be responsible for helping Rensei Inc. to successfully open and run this new TISKG campus in Sapporo.

POSITION DETAILS: The work week is Monday to Friday. Minimum required annual paid leave stipulated in the Labor Standards Act shall be provided. The Employee shall have the paid leave in the summer vacation and winter vacation. The daily work schedule is 8:30am to 17:00pm, but it must be mentioned that the Head Teacher is expected to work the hours necessary to help run the school and give the students the highest possible quality of learning experience.

IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a confident, dedicated, and passionate teacher. Candidates must have a university degree and two years experience (ideally working with Pre-school / kindergarten students in Japan).

LOCATION: The school is located near West 18-chome station on the Subway Tozai line.

START DATE: The ideal start date is mid March 2015.

COMPENSATION: The starting wage will be 300,000 per month depending on qualifications and experiences. Participation in the Social Insurance and Pension is required (company contributions are made on top of the stated wage level with teacher contributions being deducted from the wage). Transportation is reimbursed up to 20,000 per month.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS: Rensei Inc. will screen resumes to check that minimum requirements are met. Candidates will be contacted to arrange face-to-face interviews for teachers who are able to come to our Sapporo Maruyama KG, or Skype web-interviews for those who can’t. Candidates will be asked to bring with them their residence cards, passports, copies of qualifications and letters of reference. Following the first round of interviews candidates will be short-listed for a second round of interviews, which will include a trial lesson. These second round interviews will be conducted with GI staff and Rensei Inc. will make the final decision. Once that final decision has been made, Rensei Inc. will contact all candidates to inform them of the decision. The successful candidate will meet with the Rensei Inc. general manager to sign employment documentation.

We look forward to receiving your application.
