【Summer Camp Counselor and/or Saturday Day Camp + Online Hybrid English Teacher】

Miralba Kids is currently seeking passionate, native English-speaking teachers who love working with children and are enthusiastic about innovative approaches to language education in Japan.

About Us

Miralba Kids is a hybrid educational program offering Saturday field trips, after-school online English lessons, and seasonal camps. Our hands-on approach allows children to learn English naturally through play, inquiry, and discovery. We aim to redefine English education in Japan through a unique method that emphasizes fun, real-world experiences over rote learning.

Now Hiring:

1. Seasonal Summer Camp Counselor (or Manager)

We're looking for energetic and experienced camp counselors who can lead fun, engaging outdoor activities for kids aged 4–11. This summer's camp takes place in Karuizawa, Nagano.

2025 Summer Camp Dates:
・Session 1: July 26 – August 1
・Session 2: August 3 – August 9
・Session 3: August 17 – August 23

Responsibilities:

・Lead sports, games, debate, speech, STEAM projects, and more
・Supervise students overnight in cabin settings
・Ensure student safety and enforce camp rules
・Plan and deliver educational, age-appropriate activities

Camp Manager applicants should have significant experience managing camps or classrooms and will be expected to support lesson planning and team coordination with help from the Head Teacher.

Compensation:

・Camp Counselor: ¥21,000 per 2-day, 1-night session (includes meals and round-trip transport from Tokyo/Omiya)
・Camp Manager Allowance: Additional, based on experience

2. Saturday Day Camp + Online Hybrid English Teacher (Part-time)

We are also hiring inspiring teachers to guide students (ages 4–11) during Saturday field trips and follow-up with them through online English lessons during the week.

Saturday Day Camp Duties:

・Accompany children on educational outings (Tokyo area)
・Engage with students in English through games, sports, and activities
・Assist with reading/writing practice in the classroom post-trip

Online Teaching Duties:

・Teach 1–5 online lessons per week (Mon–Fri, between 5:15 PM – 9:15 PM)
・40-minute lessons + 20 minutes for prep/reflection
・Use provided lesson plans (creating future materials is a plus!)

Requirements:

・2+ years experience teaching children ages 4–11
・Phonics teaching experience (especially with beginners aged 4–9)
・Flexible, patient, and positive under changing circumstances
・Must have a stable internet connection (100 Mbps+); pocket Wi-Fi or hotspots not accepted

Schedule:

・Day Camps: Saturdays, 9:30 AM – 5:25 PM (with a 45-min break)
・Must be available at least 2 Saturdays per month.

Compensation:

・Online Lessons: ¥1,800 – ¥4,000/lesson (based on experience)
・Day Camp: ¥1,300 – ¥2,000/hour (lunch + transportation reimbursed up to ¥1,000/each way from within Greater Tokyo)


Additional Information

・Applicants must already reside in Greater Tokyo and have valid work authorization in Japan.
・All hires will complete a 3-month probationary period. Upon successful completion, raises may be offered based on performance and experience.
