About Us:

Tokyo Coding Club (TCC) is Tokyo’s leading after-school and weekend programming, digital design, video editing, robotics, and digital arts learning center. We serve students aged 6 to 18 at our Nishi-Azabu center and around the world through our online lessons. Our goal is to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to thrive in the digital age while having fun!

Are you ready to make this summer extraordinary? Become part of our dynamic team at Tokyo Coding Club, where we offer fun-filled tech camps to kids all-year-round. Our camps are designed to inspire and engage young minds through exciting STEM lessons and thrilling outdoor activities—all in English.

As a Camp Counselor, you’ll engage with campers in STEM activities like programming, robotics, and/or digital design while guiding them through exciting local excursions. From theme parks and waterparks to hiking trails and canoeing, every day will be filled with exciting opportunities to create lifelong memories for children aged 5 to 12.

Join us for our camps in Tokyo and/or Gunma, where you’ll impact the lives of our campers and grow personally and professionally in a supportive, international, and energetic environment.

The summer 2025 camp season includes the following sessions in Gunma (all Monday - Friday):

-June 30 to July 4
-July 7 to 11
-July 14 to 18
-July 21 to 25
-July 28 to August 1
-August 4 to 8

The summer 2025 camp season includes the following sessions in Tokyo (all Monday - Friday):

-March 17 to 21
-March 24 to 28
-June 16 to 20
-June 23 to 27
-June 30 to July 4
-July 7 to 11
-August 11 to 15
-August 18 to 22

*Note that availability for all camp sessions is not required. Please indicate in your application which camp dates you would be available for.

What you will work on as a Camp Counselor:

-Guide students aged 5 to 12 through STEM lessons including programming, robotics, and/or digital design, with a commitment to making them engaging and accessible to all skill levels. Depending on your technical expertise, you may either lead or assist in these lessons.
-Oversee general camp activities, ensuring each day runs smoothly and all camp rules are followed to maintain a safe, respectful environment for our young learners.
-Engage with students during dynamic outdoor activities such as theme parks, waterparks, canoeing, white water rafting, and hiking, helping to create unforgettable experiences.
-Participate in and support evening entertainment like board games, Minecraft competitions, and movie nights, encouraging a sense of community and camaraderie among campers.
-Monitor campers to ensure adherence to camp guidelines and proactively address any disruptive behavior, maintaining a positive camp atmosphere.
-Commit to learning and executing all emergency procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of all camp participants.
-Report to the head counselor and/or the camps management team, working collaboratively to deliver a top-tier camp experience.


Our ideal candidate has:

-Excellent communication skills in English
-A Bachelor's degree or in the process of obtaining one
-Physical ability to participate in activities: run, climb, swim, lift, or support weight of children
-Ability to pass a background check, physical, and proof of immunizations
-High level of responsibility and accountability
-Strong communication and collaboration skills

Optional but advantageous skills:

-Prior experience working at camps, primary/elementary schools, or specific activities involving children
-Prior teaching experience in computer science/programming either at a school, a learning center, after school, or another educational institution
-First Aid, CPR, and related training certifications
-Bilingual language abilities in English and Japanese

Work hours:

-Gunma sessions: 5 days, 4 nights
