Description

The Iizuka-tei Hotel, a historical house built 200 years ago which has been renovated into a hotel and now designated a tangible cultural property, provides an integral service in cooperation with Nakagawa Town, Tochigi. It is the only hotel in eastern Japan that operates within a building designated as a tangible cultural property. We are now looking for someone who would relish the opportunity to live and work in a small town, take care of our guests and grow the brand through marketing opportunities. To learn more about our hotel concept, Nakagawa Town, etc., please visit our web site at https://iizukatei.ohtawaragt.co.jp/en/

The hotel is located in, and the employee would be required to live in, Nakagawa Town, Tochigi Prefecture. The town has a population of approximately 18,000 people and is located in the northeastern part of Tochigi Prefecture. The Nakagawa River, which is the cleanest river in eastern Japan, runs through the center of the town. The town was named after this river. The clean river, rich nature surrounding the river, and woodlands located nearby the residential area make tourists who visit the area feel relaxed, and there are also tourist facilities, such as hot springs, museums, golf courses and campsites to enjoy. The friendliness and affection of the people living in this town and their culture that has been passed down make this town even more attractive.

The Iizuka-tei provides integrated services with restaurants and shops in the town. It is a new type of accommodation in which guests can directly experience real Japanese rural lifestyle while interacting with town residents.

The employee would be responsible for guest service and other hotel responsibilities as well as providing guided services for guests, around Nakagawa Town. There may also be marketing responsibilities involved in the position, either domestically or internationally. Regular working hours may vary depending on shifts or hotel occupancy but would be up to 8 hours a day, or 40 hours a week.

Applicants should have a degree, driver's license and visa for Japan, although visa sponsorship is possible if necessary. Prior experience working in hotels, guest service or marketing would be advantageous. The successful applicant would need to live in the apartment provided in Nakagawa Town. The apartment would be provided free of charge, although the employee would be responsible for the utilities. If needed, a car would also be provided free of charge.

The employee would be provided with:
・ A salary between 250,000 and 300,000 yen per month.
・ A twice yearly bonus after at least 6 months of employment, equalling approximately 2 month's of salary.
・ Company social insurance (shakai hoken).
・ Free apartment rent
・ Free car rent

The chosen candidate would ideally start in February or from the start of March 2025. If you feel you are the right person to fill this position, please submit your resume here, with cover letter explaining why you think you are the best fit for this position. Interviews will be conducted initially online with a further interview in-person in Tochigi Prefecture, if required.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
