Full time EFL Girls Junior/Senior HS Teacher in Setagaya, Tokyo from April 2025

Thank you for your interest in working for Project Genius, a concern of Korakuen English Centre. We aim to be the premier English language consultancy firm for private secondary schools in Japan.

Our client school for this position is an all-girls private junior and senior high school located in Setagaya on Keio Line in Tokyo. Our client is proud of its strong English program. Teachers at this client school do not just teach lessons but prepare students for their study abroad programs as well as help them succeed in proficiency exams such as EIKEN.

We are looking for someone who can work a five day a week schedule from Mondays to Saturdays (days off will be Sunday and one other day during the week).

This position starts from April 2025.

Our compensation package includes

• A monthly pre-tax salary of 280,000 yen per month.
• Transportation expenses will be fully covered and reimbursed.
• A Japanese school year based renewable contract.
• Remuneration is the same every month, regardless of time off during summer, winter, spring, and other holidays. .
• Provide Social Insurance and Pension package.

We will only consider candidates who already live and are able to work in Japan. We do provide support for our teachers who need to renew their visas.

Our ideal candidate:

• hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• can reach the school within one hour from their home.
• has at least one year experience teaching at a public or private secondary school in Japan.
• can work Saturdays (half days only).
• can join periodic overnight school trips and open school days.
• is comfortable with both solo and team teaching classes of up to 40 students.
• is able and willing to teach with a Japanese co-teacher in a Japanese school classroom and can effectively collaborate with teachers both in and outside the classroom.
• is able to be a team player with both Japanese and non-Japanese teachers while working within an established curriculum.
• is able and willing to follow lesson plans designed by others as well as develop and share lesson plans and materials for use by other instructors.
• is able to share ideas and compromise while keeping a positive attitude with the staff and teachers, Japanese and non-Japanese, at our client school as well as with our off-site office and executive team.
• is willing to communicate with and take advice from our management team both on-line and in-person to ensure effective results for our client-schools and their students.
• speaks English at a native-level proficiency (Native tongue).
• speaks conversational-level Japanese in order to participate in meetings with teachers.
• current holders of visas allowing work in Japan.

• have experience teaching EIKEN.
• have a TESOL-certificate from an accredited institution.
